Coral Springs has a quirk no other city in the county shares: four different water providers, split by geography. Which one serves you depends entirely on your address.
Four water districts, one city
North Springs Improvement District, 954-752-0400. Coral Springs Improvement District, 954-753-0380. The City of Coral Springs Water District, 954-344-1825. And Royal Water Works, 866-753-8292 extension 244. The city publishes a district map, and it is worth finding yours once and writing it down — when you have a pressure problem, a meter question, or a rebate to claim, you need to be calling the right one. We keep the map on hand because half the diagnostic calls we take in Coral Springs start with a pressure question that belongs to the district rather than to the irrigation system.
Master-planned, and now maturing
Most of Coral Springs was built out through the 1970s and 80s, which puts a lot of irrigation infrastructure in the window where original components have simply reached the end of their service life. Valve diaphragms, solenoids, controller output stages and PVC fittings all age. At the same time the landscaping has matured — trees that were saplings at installation now shade zones designed for full sun, and root systems have reached lines that were clear when they went in. Ficus in particular is documented by UF/IFAS as cracking pipes and sprinkler lines outright, and a ficus hedge along a property line usually runs parallel to a perimeter zone.
Fill soil over rock
Coral Springs was built on dredge-and-fill — coarse, shelly, limerock-laden sand pumped in over the original Everglades-margin flatwoods. It drains extremely fast and holds almost no water. The practical consequence is that a single long run drains straight past the root zone; two shorter cycles on the same day deliver far more usable water than one long one. Most controllers here are set the other way.

The city's Office of Sustainability runs water rebate programs alongside the restrictions. If we are quoting a smart controller or a nozzle conversion, check what is currently offered before you buy.
Your watering days
The city states it plainly: odd-numbered addresses water Wednesdays and/or Saturdays, only before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. Even-numbered addresses water Thursdays and/or Sundays, same hours.
